Hello Fifth Graders!

I'm so happy to have you in my

class for this school year!

Fifth grade is such an

exciting time, and you are now in the last year before you become middle schoolers.  This year you will learn so much through lots of fun and interesting lessons, activities and projects planned during the upcoming months.

Some of the fun reading units we will study this year include  learning about Early American civilizations, poetry, Contemporary Fiction, The Adventures of Don Quixote, The Renaissance, The Reformation, and Shakespeare. We will cover a wide range of math concepts through our Bridges in Mathematics math program. In science some of the interesting topics you will learn about are body systems, plate tectonics, and water conservation. And in social studies you will get to learn all about Native Americans, European explorers, the thirteen original colonies, and how the United States of America became a country! In fifth grade you will practice and improve your reading and writing skills, and you will have many opportunities to use computers and other technology in class.

I promise that you can count on a lot

of fun and exciting learning surprises

along the way too!
