Gunnison Elementary School follows a school-wide behavior model

called The Mustang Way.  Students are taught from an early age behavior expectations in all realms of school, including  classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, lunchroom, playground, and library.  The behavior model emphasizes being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible.

 

Students are provided with positive feedback when they are meeting expectations and following The Mustang Way. Minor misbehaviors are viewed as teaching opportunities and students will be responded to in a calm, consistent and respectful fashion.  If necessary, appropriate corrections or consequences will be made.
